Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah is an Indian actress, playback performer as well as a musician. She works most often in Tamil and Malayalam language films. Her debut as an actress was the Tamil film Pachaikili Muthucharam as well as her Malayalam debut was with Annayum's Rasoolum. Andrea Jeremiah was raised into an Anglo-Indian family at Arakkonam in Tamil Nadu.Andrea's father works as a solicitor in the Madras High Court. There is a younger sister who is a resident of Leuven Belgium as a research assistant. Jeremiah is born in Chennai. She attended National Public School, and later graduated from Women's Christian College. Andrea started the classical piano at eight years old, was called an "geek" and wanted to become a psychiatrist until the 12th grade exam. Young Stars, a Jackson Five-style band she joined at the age of 10 years old, was her starting point for her singing as well as composing music. She performed as a stage performer at her university and participated in a variety of plays staged by The Madras Players, EVAM and various theatre organizations. She served as President of the The Women's Christian College's Student Senate. Andrea's theatre career began by appearing in the film of Girishkarnad's Nagamandala. Andrea plays Kalyani in the film which is a remake of James Siegel's novel Derailed. The husband of the character is involved in an affair with her and she is subsequently blackmailed. Andrea was picked for the role after actors Simran Shobana and Tabu were approached. The film premiered at the start of 2010.
