
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco (American professional soccer player) plays as an attacking player. She is also captain of San Diego Wave FC of National Women's Soccer League, the highest level of professional women's soccer. From 2018 to 2020, she co-captained the American women's national soccer team alongside Megan Rapinoe. In the months following her graduation early from the University of California, Berkeley in the USA, where she played with the California Golden Bears, Morgan was selected as the top pick in the 2011 WPS Draft by the Western New York Flash. Morgan made her debut as a professional at the club , and also helped the team win its league championship. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years old, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011 in which she finished second. In the 2012 London Olympics Morgan scored the game-winning goal in the 123rd minute of the semi-final against Canada. Her 2012 ended with 21 goals and 28 assists and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. She was the 6th-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year, Morgan was also named a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a role in helping to help the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. Morgan was selected to the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
